So, as I've previously mentioned, now that I live in Brisbane (without a car) I am now forced to use public transport (ew hi 345 to Queen St everyday)! I never thought missing a car would be that bad but it is - not just in terms of convenience, quickness or having to come to terms with the fact that yes, you will be jammed between two smelly school boys on your way to uni everyday - but also the small pleasures I used to enjoy so much whilst driving. Not only do I actually miss driving - I miss picking up all my friends, blasting our favourite tunes and driving along the foreshore with all 4 windows down, the feeling of warm sun on our faces, arms and fingers the feel of the cool breeze whipping uncontrollably through our hair. Just last week however I got to indulge in this feeling I had missed so much. I was driving with my friends Lizzie and Harry from Eagle Farm back into the cbd after doing 5 hours of anything besides studying....(cringe). We where crusin' on a steady 60 across the Story Bridge, soaking up the sun and the beautiful city buildings which seemed to climb into the clouds. The windows were down and the beats where good as we laughed sharing past stories about travel, music and adventurous nights. Within these conversations were small pockets of silence where we silently found ourselves drifting into a mutual appreciation of the blessed, gorgeous day. Remember no matter how hectic your day is, there is always something there to make you smile. I promise.
Always,
A
