When the Train Doors Stop & Open Right in Front of You

We have all had it happen.

You're standing on the platform, waiting for the train, half awake and half dreaming of the unfinished episode of Gossip Girl you're yet to finish. The sun is slowly slipping away over the restless city and people rush past you lugging brief cases, exercise gear and shopping bags. School kids laugh obnoxiously at each other, swinging their lunchboxes in the air and tripping over untied shoelaces.
Your current feeling of exhaustion is a mild understatement which surpassed all desires to care hours ago. Your bag is tugging tightly on your left should, every pull a constant reminder of how much you regret stuffing your laptop, text books AND charger all into one bag....

You hear the distant sound of the train rolling into the station, and all of a sudden it comes flying past you - a sudden gust of wind blowing your hair around and almost causing you to loose balance. A plethora of sunken, dull faces starring blankly out of the window stream past you, the train screeches to a hault, and stops. To your surprise the train door creak open right in-front of you. Almost as if the conductor knew you were waiting desperately to board the train and escape home to the comfort of your own bed. No having to dodge people or discretely cut the line. You simply just step on.

Always,
A
