Picking Flowers

After scrubbing my shared apartment sparkling clean I was dying to decorate it with a familiar, homely touch.  I needed something to bring it all together, in a sweet and loving way. Having little to no money was going to make this a challenge - new beautiful artwork was out of the question, scented candles and equally intoxicating chai incense were definitely a no go (not wanting to comatose my room mates.) With this dilemma bouncing around my mind I set off to the local grocer to collect ingredients in preparation for that nights dinner. Walking in through the doors it suddenly occurred to me - Flowers! Who doesn't love flowers? The vibrant lush colors and sweet smell of a large bunch can hardly be refused. Scanning the prices of the flowers I was mortified...Perhaps not I thought as I sashayed away in embarrassment, clutching my empty wallet tightly. Upon walking home (depressed about my financial situation) I stumbled across a huge flourishing tree of pink and purple flowers. Picking at the flowers delicately (examining each flower in search for the prettiest ones) I eventually plucked enough to create a cute assortment and rush home. After feeding them water and arraigning them neatly in a glass vase, I found the perfect spot to place them - On the coffee table in the living room. I was so happy - flowers have always brought me such pleasure. I don't know why but I adore them and collecting them myself, with my own hands, and arranging them, made enjoying them even better.

Always,
A
